Welcome to 'parkpeople'
A Chelmsford Community Art Project

Members of Activate
would like to share with you images, ideas, poems, and sculpture combined to create an
expression of how we and Chelmsford residents feel about ourselves and our park.

To create an
awareness and understanding of each others experience of Central Park through the
development of opportunities create images of ourselves

Borough Council's Parks and Horticulture Department commissioned artist Joanna
Smith, a member of ACTIVATE to create a new
artwork for Central Park, Chelmsford

workshops

Led by Joanna
Smith, a team of ten Activate Artists have
developed the project further by sharing skills and developing ideas through workshops
with local adult groups and after-school clubs in venues across Chelmsford, from February
until May 2001.

Artworks created
by children, adults and the elderly, of all abilities are being exhibited in town centre
venues during the project and here on the project website!
